Information For Expecting Parents

Prenatal Visits

If you are considering our office as your child’s pediatrician, we encourage you to schedule a prenatal visit before the baby arrives. This will give you the opportunity to locate our office, meet our staff and ask us any questions you might have. These visits are offered by appointment. Please contact us to make a prenatal appointment.

After you’ve chosen our office to be your pediatrician, please contact us before your baby is born to register. Then simply tell the hospital staff you have registered with Carrow Street Pediatrics when you are admitted to deliver your baby. The hospital will notify us of the baby’s birth and give you information to call the office after discharge to schedule a newborn visit.

In accordance with the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines, Carrow Street Pediatrics believes that the safest place to deliver a baby is at a hospital facility.  Therefore, we do not recommend, nor accept, planned out of hospital births.

Breastfeeding has been proven to provide many benefits to a growing infant. For more information, we recommend that you visit this American Academy of Pediatrics site. We strongly encourage mothers to try breastfeeding their babies, even if only for the first few weeks.

Nurse practitioners in our office will offer support and education to all mothers interested. We hope to make breastfeeding a successful and enjoyable experience for you and your baby. If you have any questions call (716) 662-3443.
